Tubes

My precious baby has to get tubes in his ears. =( We've been trying to treat some fluid/ear infections with meds but it just hasn't gone away. So even though he has been learning new words at an average rate, the fact is he is hearing everything like he is at least 6 inches under water. Our daycare person said that he is really advanced in everything and based on how advanced he is in other things, then his speech is behind that. Hopefully after this minor surgery he will become more advanced in speaking just like he is in everything else!! We are tentatively set for next Thursday so please keep us in your prayers that day and leading up to it as we are trying some more meds to get rid of his current infection.

Anyway...on a lighter note and going along with the "no" blog from a couple weeks ago. The other day we were all sitting at the table and I was telling Scott about a doctor's appointment. Scott said, "Poor little guy hasn't been hearing very well," and Braden, without a second's hesitation said, "no" in his adorable little voice. It was precious but kinda broke my heart in the same instance. I know it will be hard to see him in a hospital bed, but God is good and will get us(Scott and I...Braden won't feel much at all) through it. It's fun to hear him talk now so I can't wait when I know that he can really hear and speak even more! Thanks in advance for your prayers!!

Helping Dad

For over 2 years Scott has been dreaming of this day!! When I was pregnant with Braden, Scott said I just want him to come out at age 2 so he'll help me do things. He knew that he wouldn't actually be doing things but so that they can act like they are both doing the job. =) That day has come!! This weekend Scott brought home a little grass for some dead areas and some dirt to level out the backyard and Braden "helped!" He helped dad put grass into the wheelbarrow and shoveled dirt! Then of course we had to swing after all that hard work!! =) It was so cute to see Scott and his little sidekick! I can't wait for more beautiful weekends like this to see my boys play!

Fun with Weston!!

Last Weekend we watched Weston while his mom and dad moved into a beautiful new house. We had a lot of fun!! They played on the playset outside, rode on the cars in the garage, and pretty much ran all around the house investigating and re-organizing everything!! =) The absolute most fun was bath time though!! The two boys individually love bath time but when they get together it even more fun!! They were so cute together. They colored each other with paint pens, and a roller marker. They also loved putting this foaming soap all over each other! (By the way thanks Grandma and Grandpa Davis, Cameo and Cutter for the bathtub fun) It was so cute to see them play together and splash all over!! =) One point was really cute because they poured water from one cup to another cup and then Weston poured it on himself. =) It was adorable!!

Kiddie Park!!

Last Thursday Mandy, Weston, Braden and I went to Kiddie Park in San Antonio. It was a lot of fun!! They had a lot of little kidamusement park rides, and Braden and Weston did great! I was kinda nervous that we would buy the tickets and then they would hate going on the rides without their mommies, but they were very big boys and went all by themselves!! Below are a few picks from our fun day together! We have some ansy little boys though because it's still impossible to get them both looking at the camera. =) There still the cutest little guys, and we'll get better at taking pics. =)

No, no, no

No means no and no means yes. It is usually easy to tell when Braden really doesn't want something because we get a "no, no, no" with a hand shaking back and forth. On the other hand, yes is a little harder to distinguish. For a while now we've been working with Braden on saying yes or nodding. We are getting close, but as he gets more and more decisive about what he wants it's funny to still hear him say no for everything. We ask if we wants to go outside and he says no, we then ask if he wants to stay inside and he says no. Sometimes we'll say do you want some food and he'll say no and then reach for the food. As Grandma Dianna says it's a very polite no. He means to says yes but no comes out.

Also, AJ is beginning work her magic with him. Last night we were sitting at the dinner table talking about getting Braden something and I jokingly said that AJ still owed him an extra Christmas present and Braden said no right after that! =) Then I said, "should AJ get a birthday present?" And of course Julia started nodding and then Braden started nodding. It was sooo funny! I'm sure they will only continue to work together to try to get their way.

Braden loves to be chased and sometimes you don't even have to chase him. He also loves to make this growling noise for any dinosaur, lion, bear, basically anything that might growl. He was growling about his dinosaur on his pj's and then just started running at me while growling and then running away. It was an unsaid rule in this game that every time I called his name he came towards me. It was so funny how he just kept on playing a game of cat and mouse when I didn't even move. =)

Braden loved sledding! I on the other hand of course was cold! We went once with Grandpa Jim, and once with UP and AJ. He looked so cold with his little face all red and snot and tears running down it, but he would get to the bottom of the hill and say "mo" (more) and point back up. It was just crazy, but he was happy.

Braden has always loved music! His current favorite thing to listen to is a CD that Uncle Paul got for him. It sings a song about an animal for each letter. Turn up your music and listen carefully because he pauses when the music stops. It's so adorable to see him dance around!!

After receiving many emails I've finally found some time to sit down and brag on my boy. I'm sorry it's been sooo long since our last blog. We've been busy and just enjoying life, and it's one of those things when we did have a little time it seemed like we needed to catch up so much time that we chose to do something else. Anyway...here's some of our last few months.

December-We went home for Christmas and had a great time!! Braden and I drove through the night with Grandma Dianna and AJ and came home a week before Dad. It was great to see everyone and Braden was lavished with gifts!! Braden went sledding a couple times and loved spending time with the "baby" aka precious little Tori!! He was definitely enamored by her. I can't wait to see them really play together!!

January-We drove through the night again...this time with Dad. Minus the dog smell from the 2 dogs in the van, the 17 hour drive surprisingly wasn't too bad! We got back to work and school, and tried to stay warm. I realize we live in South Texas but it was still pretty cold. We are finally working our way into spring now!! Braden stayed warm by doing a lot of playing in the garage where it was at least bearable. Braden's awesome dad would also bundle up and take him out on the swing set. I mostly watched from inside. Yes, I am a wimp. =)

February-It started to warm up a little, and we were able to play a lot more outside. Grandpa Steve came down for a weekend and he and Braden went to many softball games together. They had a lot of fun, and it was great to see them together. We also started looking for our next lot! We finally decided on one and should close next month!! We're very excited for our next house so we're praying for a quick sale on our current one even though we can't sell until the end of May. We've started looking at plans and will hopefully finalize that soon also. Braden has again become more and more a fan of "side" or outside. He could stay outside all day and be incredibly happy! He loves the "sli" and "swin" (slide and swing) and also love this wierd thing that Dad calls the roller coaster. It is much safer than the "carnival ride" he used to do on our bed, but I'm still not sure how he comes up with these things. All I know is that Braden loves them and his absolute favorite person in the world is Dad! It is so wonderful to see Braden's face when Dad comes home from work. He just lights up!

Braden changes more and more everyday!! He is adding more and more words and just showing more personality! He is such a happy little kid and a good little guy too. He is eating more and more. Still a skinny little man but he's filling out and developing ahead of normal! He runs a lot! It's hard to keep up with him, and he climbs a little too well also! Scary sometimes! Still loves dancing too! It's absolutely adorable to watch him dance/march/move around to the sound of any music. All in all I love every single minute of being Braden's mom. He is a blessing every single day!!

Xmas presents early!

We got an early Christmas present from Aunt Dana today and although we loved the present, Braden had so much fun playing with the packing peanuts that came in the present!! He crumpled them up in his hands and threw them all around. It took a while to get it all cleaned up but it was so worth it! Thanks for the fun Aunt Dana...oh yeah and the present!! =) We can't wait to see Braden open presents at Christmas and play with all the boxes that his presents come in!! =)

Catherine, Braden and I spent a few hours Wednesday enjoying the weather and the fall colors. We stumbled across this great area by the river that had this huge sycamore tree stump that Braden loved. I bet he threw 100 rocks into the river.

Braden can't wait to destroy the towers after mom and dad build them. Most of the time he doesn't let us finish them:) Catherine currently has the highest structure to date at a staggering 88 inches. Mine might have been higher, but we will never know because Braden decided there needed to be a fish on the first level and conveniently for mom brought the whole thing down.. ha ha. It sure is a good game that keeps us all entertained.
Braden burrowing through his tunnel. It came with 100 balls that rest in the middle of the two tunnels, but Braden rarely lets them stay in as he enjoys throwing them out and watching us scramble to get them.
Here is Braden showing us how proud he is that he was able to climb up his fort. It has a rock wall on one side of it and he is able to fly up that now and loves to run back and forth up on the platform and watch us below.

After a great day of playing with everyone Braden winded down with a babysitter as we all went out for a great meal at SPICE (Thai food). Then off to Dave and Busters for some good entertainment before Paul had to leave Sunday morning.

Well I couldn't help myself. I put Braden in a pumpkin again. =) It was so darn cute last year and this year I figured he would be smiling in it. Boy was I wrong!! He hated it!! The kid definitely has a mind of his own! Last year he wasn't really a fan but at least he sat there. This year is was mostly ugly sad faces and whining. =( But there's a few cute pics along with a one from last year. I do have to show you what he would want shown which are his sad faces too.

Just about every time Braden goes outside he goes over to his wagon and throws out all of the balls, that is if they've been picked up since the last time. =) He doesn't even look at where half of the balls go! He just grabs one and throws it. It's really pretty funny how focused he is about emptying it all out.

Braden was the cutest little pirate for Halloween! We had a full weekend of Halloween festivities! On Friday, Braden wore his costume to daycare with all the other kids. Then he had a halloween birthday party to go to. It was fun to see all the little kids all dressed up! Then on Saturday, we went to the fall festival in Boerne! They had music, bouncies, food, and a big fun slide! Finally, we went back home to do a little trick or treating! It was a great weekend!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went out to Medina TX to a pumpkin patch at an apple orchard. It was a long drive but it was beautiful! They had a little petting zoo, hay rides, songs, pumpkins, and best of all was the apple ice cream!! We had fun walking around seeing all the animals and playing in the pumpkins! Then we took a break and at some delicious apple ice cream with apple syrup. Yum yum it was so delicious! Braden loved it too!

Last year about this time we went for a walk in a nearby park called Fredrick Park. So we decided to go again and take some pictures in the same spots one year later. It was so fun to see Braden climb all around! Last year we carried him in the Baby Bjorn and had to sit him up very carefully to quickly snap a picture before he fell over. =) It's amazing how much he has changed and how much fun he is now! He just lights up our lives! I can't wait to see how much he changes in the next year!!

Love of the Garage

For the last 6 months or so Braden has loved playing in the garage. His absolute favorite thing is to take a ball from the ball container walk to the edge of the garage and drop the ball and watch it roll down the driveway. Then he goes and gets another ball and repeats it. He also loves just carrying things around and "organizing" things his way. He second favorite thing to do is to play in his car that Nana and Papa got him for his birthday. He gets in his car and gets out of his car 5 times in 5 minutes. Many times we will be getting ready to go somewhere and he'll pick up a ball or toy off the ground and then carry it with him to the car and get in like he's ready to go. It's so cute! It's hard to not just stop and play for a couple minutes or at least give him a little spin around in his car. Scott put a rope on the front of the car and we'll take him on a walk or just spin him around in the car. He just slouches down in it and smiles as we pull him along.

15 months!!

Braden is 1 1/4 years old!! I just can't believe how much he continues to change! He has 2 more teeth! So now we have 4 on the bottom and 4 on the top! He definitely is talking a lot more, and he has more sounds for different objects. We just need to figure out what all those sounds mean. =) We cut his hair a little shorter last week. It's a little more under control. =) He now loves listening to Veggie Tales in the car! He bounces and waves his arms so much when he hears it! It's adorable! He's doing really good at the sitter's during the day too. He walks in all on his own and goes straight for the toys like he owns the place. His love for his Dad is continuing to grow also. He doesn't want to be away from his dad at all. Wherever dad goes, Braden wants to follow. It's the cutest thing in the world. He's so blessed to have such an incredibly patient and wonderful dad! He is growing up so fast, I can't believe it's been 15 months, and I can't wait for another 15 months!

We have had a busy September. Braden was sick for the first couple weekends but got better just in time to go home to IL for a weekend with Dad! He was showered with love and gifts from everyone! He went a lot of different places and saw everyone in the family! Thank you to everyone who took care of him and entertained him! Scott really enjoyed his time going to a baseball game and lots of golf, and I enjoyed my weekend here with the girls! I was so excited and happy to have them home though! I don't know what I would do without my boys! It's been a while...

So sorry that I haven't put up new posts in a long time! Time has been flying! Here's a little update on us...in mid July Scottie turned 30! He's soooo old. =) In late July we helped organize a thing call Freecycle which was a free garage sale at our church. It was awesome and so many people got blessed with free items! We bought a huge playset with 2 slides, swings, and a little rock wall. It's a lot of fun and will only get more fun as Braden gets older! Scott did an awesome job staining the wood and then we put it together. It was quite a task, but it looks awesome! Then Jules went to Africa, and shortly after Braden started daycare! He had his ups and downs but now he is doing great! He loves going to Grandma Mary's and that is so wonderful to know when I drop him off each morning! A couple weeks ago I started school, and so far it's been good. I'm exhausted, but I think in a week or two I'll be doing better. A week ago, my sister and now my mom have moved in with us. Scott, my unbelievable husband, offered to have them stay with us for a little while while they sell the house back in IL. That brings us up to this week. Scott took the plunge and got baptized! It was awesome! The church had a big river baptism ceremony. Scott's been a Christian for quite a while, but hasn't ever been baptized so he decided this would be a good time. The setting was beautiful! We'll always remember that day! Also this week I'm another year older...27! Yikes! At least it's not as old as Scott. =) Anyway, that's us. The following are some pics from the past couple months.

This is kind of a long story...one day Braden was happily playing in the bathroom so I decided to go check my email really quickly. A few minutes later I realize that I haven't really heard anything(never a good thing) and around comes Braden from the master. All I could do was laugh. He had gotten a tube of my lipstick and put it all over. It was hilarious! There were little lipstick greasy hand prints on the floor and a little trail on the carpet from the bathroom out of the master! =)

Shortly before Julia left for Africa, Braden got a stomach virus. It was awful. He was definitely in some pain and just wanted to cuddle. Here are a few adorable pics of him cuddling with his daddy.

Once mom accepted the offer to move in, we moved the office downstairs and the guest bedroom upstairs. Braden of course helped by throwing things down the stairs and by adding a little weight when dad moved the desk and dresser drawers. =)

Last weekend we watched Weston during the day and before we put them down for naps we wanted to get some vacuuming done. Scott got out the vacuum and the boys went in the closet and got a couple mops of their own. They looked so adorable trying to push them around the floors "helping" Scott clean!

1 Year Old!

My baby is 1! I can't believe that it's been a year since he was born. It's flown by but it was filled with a million memories that I hope to never forget! He certainly has changed our lives, but only for the better! I don't know what I would do without this little guy! He fills my days with smiles and I just love seeing him learn to do new things and figure out how things work! He is so full of energy and laughter! We have been so blessed to have him in our lives and I can't wait to see him grow up!

On his birthday we all went down to the coast and played in the sand! He of course loved the sand and the water. He giggled while he splashed the waves and was fearless when it came to crawling along the water! Then we came back just in time to see the fireworks at Woodlawn Park. It was a great day and he did awesome considering it was really hot in Corpus and it was a long drive. He seemed to like the fireworks too. He looked at them for the first 5 minutes and then just wanted to walk around. =) Special thanks to UP for taking our awesome ocean pics!

Best Weekend!!

As I said before we had a lot of family in town last weekend. We had a lot of fun! We went to the riverwalk, to guadalupe state park, main street in Boerne, the coast, Sea World, and Woodlawn park. It was a lot of fun to just spend time talking with the Blairs and the Gillettes. It was also wonderful to have the 3 Heaberlin kids together, and to hear about Paul's awesome trip to Peru! And like I said before they were huge help in getting ready for the party! In going to all of these places, Braden spent a lot of time in the car and Uncle Paul(UP) took some pics of our trips. =)

Baseball Birthday

Last Friday night we had Braden's first birthday party! We had a baseball theme, since he loves balls. He just kept pointing at the balloons and everything and saying ball! It was cute! Luckily we had our family visiting and they were a big help in getting everything ready! His cake was shaped like half of a baseball and of course his dad added detail by writing Rawlings on it to make it even more real looking! Everyone else got baseball cupcakes which were professionally iced by Uncle Ed and Cameo! =) Everything went really great and it was great to have friends over to celebrate Braden's first year! He also got sooooo many presents from people here and afar...too many to list! He really is a blessed little boy!

Braden makes a little Grimlin sound ever once in a while. It took a long time before we got it on video. Usually he does it to get attention, but this is just him in "Braden world" making his grimlin sound. You might have to turn it up, and yes you will hear me trying to make the sound encourage him to keep going. :)

A couple weeks ago we went golfing with dad for a late Father's Day treat since Braden was sick on Father's Day. Braden took his putter and had a blast putting the balls in the hole! He loved throwing the golf balls all over the place and just doing what dad did.

As you can see from this video, Braden and Abby are best friends...at least Braden thinks so. =) The only problem is that it daily costs us money. Abby loves pacifiers and we used to just worry about a pacifier getting on the floor and Abby getting it and chewing it up. That is the least of our worries now! Now Braden just hands it over...he takes it out of his mouth and puts it in her mouth! It's pretty funny until you realize each pacifier is $2!

He has been carrying this balloon around all yesterday and today just giggling and squeeling. This afternoon, Abby got in on the fun and Braden thought it was great!

Just missed the draft

Well we just missed the MLB draft earlier this month, but we'll be ready next year. Braden has been practicing his throwing, and he's got a little grunt to go with it. He favors his left arm, but he's fairly ambidextrous and can throw with his right too. Scott's pretty happy about him possibly being a lefty, even though he's always said that I'm really right handed and my parents forced me to be left handed. =)

Best Dad Ever!!

Well Scott's First Father's Day hasn't been too great so far. Poor little Braden is not feeling good, and welcomed him this morning by throwing up on him. =( But, his Dad as usual is a trooper. He's been trying to comfort Braden and help him feel better. They are taking a nap right now so I thought I would do a little bragging on the best Dad ever. I just don't know what we would do without him! He loves us so much and just does everything for us. He's always playing with Braden and trying to teach him new things(mostly good). =) He's a big help around the house, and is always ready to do our next project. Every day he plays with Braden as he gets ready for work and eats breakfast, and when he comes home tired from work he still takes Braden with open arms and plays with him until it's time for him to go to bed. He does so much for us he deserves a whole week off, but even when I tell him to sleep in he still wants to get up and play with his little man! I always knew he would be an awesome Dad, and I can't wait to see Braden and him in the years to come!

Walking and a Visit from UP!!!

Braden's mode of choice is now walking!!!! Is so cute to see him toddle around from place to place!! What a cute boy! You can tell as he's walking that he is focus but very proud of himself!! It was just in time too because UP(Uncle Paul) was here last night on his way to Peru. Paul definitely enjoyed seeing our crazy boy. =) Here are a couple pics from last night and videos from today!! Climbing the Stairs

Braden loves climbing the stairs. He knows that upstairs are balls, and he loves them. He climbs right up, usually saying ball along the way, and then crawls right over to either the baseball that we keep on the floor or the to the speaker that has the baseball case on top of it. I think he must think if only he could reach those baseballs, then he would be in heaven. =)

Fun in the water and sand!!

We got a couple early birthday gifts and we use them daily!! The Davis' got us a pool and Grandma Heaberlin got us a sandbox and picnic table!! Braden loves them both! We start him out in the sandbox and he mostly enjoys wrecking anything we build. He really likes to wipe off the sand that we put on the table. It's really cute. Of course he tries to eat it some too. He was happy about it at first, and then I think it got to be a little much. =) While he was distracted playing with the sand on the table the other day, Scott covered his legs. I guess we parents sometimes have more fun than the kids. =) After the sand box gets old then he crawls out and gets into the pool. It's like he knows he needs to clean off. He loves when we put the hose in the pool and turn it on so he can play with it and of course Abby gets in on the action too. He waves the hose back and forth and Abby just chases it. =) Braden sure is spoiled by his grandparents!! Thanks again!!

A day with Grandpa and Grandma Davis

When Jim and Gina were here they took Braden up to Fredricksburg for a day. They went shopping on the main drag and went out to a nursery and a pot store. The boys had a lot of fun at the pot store while Grandma was shopping. Grandpa said, "He and I were all over that place, I had him inside pots and he loved it all."

When we came home and were getting Braden ready for bed tonight, Braden found the light switch in his room. It took a couple times, but then he thought it was the funniest thing to turn off the lights as I turned them back on. It was hilarious to see his giggle so much! Can you believe it?!?! Only one more month and my baby is 1 year old! I can't believe it's been a year since we moved into this house and I was waddling around trying to get a list of about 100 items done before he came! He has grown and changed so much this last month. He is learning to eat more things and say more things! Everything is either a dog or a ball! I think he's said both words about 10,000 times! It's so cute. We've been trying really hard to get them on video but he clams up with the record button gets pushed. He has also been taking some steps!!! This is another thing that we can't seem to get on tape because it's just depends on if he wants to or not. We definitely can't make him! Helping him to learn how to take more steps are his toys that he loves to push around the floor where ever he can go! A new thing last night was putting a pot, which is usually pushed around, on top of his drum. It was adorable! It's like a new little shelf he has found so he can take things even further around the house! =) He has continued to climb on things and is very curious! He has learned how to climb up the couch back all on his own and can now climb up the slide on our Little Tikes set. He other new thing which could be trouble is that he likes to fall backwards when he is on the couch or the bed. He giggles with glee as he hits! This is great and all but it just means that we have to watch him like a hawk to make sure he will land on something soft! =) I can't wait to see what these next few weeks hold for us! I know everyone says trouble is ahead, but I'm so excited for him to start walking around!

The Grandparents are coming!!!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Gina came into town a few weeks ago! It was so much fun to see them play with Braden! They even took him for a whole day to Fredricksburg while Scott and I stayed back relaxed and went to a movie! It was so nice! Scott and Jim went golfing a couple of days, and Jim and Gina were able to go to the coast for a couple days too. They of course brought gifts back to spoil Braden with! He is waiting for some sand to come so that he can build a giant sand castle with the tools they gave him! He is already using the chair they gave him, and it amazes me how easily he gets in and out of it. We also learned where Scott gets the urge to fly Braden through the air...of course it's from his dad! Jim flew Braden through the air on his chair! So this is fair warning Amanda, start getting little Tori ready for some rides of her own. =) Here are a few pics and a video of their trip. More pics are to follow when Grandpa sends them.

Mischief

Sorry it's been a long time since our last blog, but it just seems like somethings been going on all the time for the past month! We've been having a lot of fun though! Braden has been growing and changing a lot! He is finding his way all over the place and getting in to a lot of trouble! He loves investigating the food in the pantry and has ruined quite a few soda cans from dropping them on the floor. He also love when the frig door is open so that he can pull everything from the door out onto the floor!

One day I was getting ready doing my make up and I heard the water on the tub turn on. This is a normal occurrence. Braden likes to turn on and off the water and throw things into it. I try to discourage it, but on this particular day I was in a hurry and decided to let it go. A couple minutes later I looked back at him and to my amazement saw him in the tub!! Somehow he got into the tub and was playing in the water. The truly amazing thing is that only his hands and feet were wet!

He has also figured out how to climb into the drawers in the kitchen now. He climbs in and is having a great time until he wants to get out! That process usually ends in him fussing until I get him. =)

Since then he has continued to get into trouble, but the other day when we visited the Gray's we reached a new level. Let's just say, Braden gave them a consultation on what they need to move in the next couple months if they want their precious son, Cooper, to not kill himself. =) Rachel seemed open to the idea of moving things, however Jeff might need a few more sessions with Braden. I'm sure he'll come around.

The Dancing Hand!!

So it's a little different but Braden loves to move his hand anytime he hears music! It's really pretty funny. At church everyone always talks about how much he loves to dance to the music when we pick him up, and at night one of Braden and Dad's favorite pastimes is to go listen and dance to the music part of his swing. During the day, Braden and I go into the bathroom to listen to the radio and look at all the reflections in the 3 mirrors we have in there. His dancing is really just bouncing but his hand definitely goes along with the song! Such a cute little boy!

Playing in the Pool!

We've been able to go to the pool the last couple weekends and it's been so much fun to see Braden in the water! He was kinda serious about it the first weekend but yesterday we took him into the big pool and he really liked splashing the water and kicking his legs! Of course my competitive husband made some sort of game that he convince Julia to play. I'm not sure who ended up winning, but either way they had a lot of fun! =)

Watering the plants and Abby

Braden loves playing in the water and he loves playing with the hose! The weather has been so nice lately so we've been spending a lot of nights outside. Braden goes right over to the hose to play with the water! Last week, Braden was playing with the water and Abby saw him from inside and started wimpering. So we let her out and she went right for the water. Anyone that knows Abby knows that she loves hose water. There's just something special about it. =) Abby and Braden played for quite a while! It was really cute!

Firetrucks!

On Saturday night we went with some friends to the Boerne Fire Department Fish Fry Fundraiser! It was a lot of fun and the fish was actually pretty good! We walked all around the trucks and got to see all the cool things firemen get to use! One of our friend's son loves to get all decked out as different professions so of course he came as a fireman! Little McCoy was soooo cute! It was like 90 that day and his dad told him to wear shorts, but he said, "Dad, Firemen don't wear shorts!" What a cutie! We just got Braden a litte Fireman outfit at the garage sale too so in a couple years he might just sport his outfit to the fish fry!

Boy's Night In!

Last Friday night Braden and dad stayed at home while mom and A.J. went out with some of her friends! The girls had a good time going to see a movie and the boys stayed back and played. They cleaned dad's truck, played in the yard, and went on a walk. Seemed like they had a lot of fun! Braden sure did get messy! He's getting into more and more trouble lately! Therefore we brought out the shirt from the pics below! =) Poor little guy has gotten into quite a bit last week...he pinched his fingers in a door, got bit by a fire ant, and fell somehow and got a little bruise on his cheek. You can't look away for even a second and he's in something else!

10 Months old!!

Wow this last month has flown by! Braden is more and more fun everyday! He is pulling up on everything and is standing by himself for a while too! He crawls so fast it's crazy to see him go for something he really wants! He just zooms across the floor! He is talking a lot more too! Lots of jibber jabber! He loves eating regular people food, still not to keen on the baby food! He has really gotten a mind of his own this past week too! He is no longer my happy go lucky baby. =( When he doesn't get what he wants he lets out this little wine/cry/scream. I thought I had a few more months before that started, but I guess not! He has said really close to his first word too! It's "ball"! He loves any kind of ball and when he sees one or gets one in his had he says "ba" and either picks it up over his head or just tosses it down! It's so cute! He will do anything for a ball! I think that is going to have to be the theme of his birthday party! He also loves music! He dances and waves his hands whenever we put music on. We bought a little music set with maracas at a garage sale and he just loves them! He crawls with them and just shakes them all around.

Prom!!

Julia had prom last weekend and she looked good! Her dress was beautiful and of course it fit her great! I did her hair and I must say it looked pretty good! All the kids met at the country club to take pics together which was great because she was able to get pics with her softball girls!

This is probably something Braden will hate us for later in life but oh well. Weston came over last Friday night and Julia and I had a blast feeding a baby that loved to eat for once! We decided to give them a bath together and they had fun for a little bit but they weren't too happy when we tried to have them pose for pics! I must say these are two of the cutest boys in the world but man do they have different body styles! =)

Easter!!

I'm so sorry that this is way late! Boy did we have a week! Poor little Braden had an allergic reaction to some meds for an ear infection and broke out in an awful rash. It was so painful to see him scratch at his head! We finally got it all figured out and back to his usualy self late last week, but since then our internet has been really bad. I think our computer hates me! =( It's finally working a little now though. So needless to say Braden's first Easter wasn't that great. However he loved the toys that he got from his grandparents and is playing with them all the time now! He loves to play with his golf clubs and this flashy light thing that he got from Grandma and Grandpa Davis, he likes to play with Rusty the monkey that he got from Grandpa Heaberlin, and he looks like a little stud in the clothes from Grandma Heaberlin and Grandma and Grandpa Davis! They really like to spoil him that's for sure (we got a little spoiling too...thanks for the candy!) Braden told us to say thanks for the gifts and he can't wait to see what he gets for his 1st Birthday!!! He sure is a blessed little boy! Below is a video of him playing with the golf clubs. Scott worked and worked to get a video where he actually hit the ball with the right end of the club! He natually seems to pick it up and swing it on the wrong end. It was cute seeing Scott show Braden how to hit it, although I'm not sure it really sunk in. =) Maybe in a few years!!

9 Months!!!

I can't believe my little angel is 9 months old!! He is starting to look more and more toddlerish! His hair is getting longer and thicker. We actually have to do something with it now or it just sticks straight up. =) He will walk while holding onto your fingers and he's had a few times where he's stood by himself. I loves to get chased around and starts giggling at random things, for example I started laughing at Scott tonight and Braden just started in laughing too! It was cute! He's a little string bean just like his dad! The Dr would like him to gain a little more weight so we are trying fatty foods to see if we can plump him up. But beside his light weight he is doing everything ahead of normal babies. He makes new sounds everyday. Today he made this wierd grimlin like sound. It was pretty funny!

He's ready for the baseball season! Hopefully we'll get to watch a lot of Cardinal games to steer him towards the right team as early as possible. =)

He is really good at pulling up! This is usually my view of him if I'm in the kitchen. Julia says he always knows where to go if I'm not next to him then I'm in the kitchen. He crawls in and pulls up on my leg and tugs and tugs until I pay attention to him. =)

His 6th tooth finally is coming through!! It's been a long month with teeth coming in and this last one has been the toughest. Poor little thing just can't get his fever to go away, but he still has as much fun as he can. Hopefully next week we'll be back to crazy happy Braden all the time!

He loves balls! His Grandpa Steve got him a basketball and a soccer ball and he loves to play with them! His dad has been teaching him right by playing with them all the time! Mandy said that he dug to the bottom of a basket one time just to get a ball out. =)

A trip to the Beach

Last Saturday, we headed down to Corpus Christi to see the Champion Chargers play soccer! They made it to the Elite 8 and Julia's bf, Tim, is the goalie. Sadly they lost the game, but we still had a lot of fun at the game and afterward. We headed over to Blackbeards, a restaurant we always go to when we go to the coast, and then we walked out onto the beach! Braden was excited in his swimwear and he looked like a little stud, but Julia's first words were, "It's cold!" He loved playing in the sand and no matter what we did he would not look up from it! He wore himself out though because after we cleaned him up he just wanted to fall asleep in his towel with his AJ. =) He's such a cutie! I can't wait to take him swimming this summer!

A night off!

Thank you thank you thank you to Grandma Dianna!! She watched Braden for a night while Scott and I went to a nearby resort to relax! We had a great time! Swam in the pool, at smores, and had a great dinner! Braden had a great time with Grandma and slept very well for her! He told me to say that he's ready for another night parent free if anyone would like to volunteer!

Another new friend...

Braden has another new friend! His name is Cooper Gray, and he's a cutie! He came over to play for a couple hours. We went on a walk and played with some toys. He hung out with Julia and watched tv for a while and then just fell asleep! What a good baby! My crazy active son of course didn't go to sleep when Cooper did! He stayed up and played for a couple more hours! =)

TROUBLE with a capital T!

I don't know how many times I say, "Braden don't get yourself in trouble," but it's a lot! He's into just about everything! He loves cords, especially the speaker cord that goes behind the couch. We've taped down part of it, but he of course finds the part that's not taped down. =) He also loves everything Abby. He likes to get on her pillow, get her bone, play with the doggie door, play with her water bowl, and play with the door on her crate! He has found the cabinets now too! He hasn't broken anything yet and we are putting up safety things this weekend, but he espeically loves the tupperware and the pots and pans. In a matter of a couple minutes he will have 4 or 5 drawers pulled out and about 20 things on the floor.

Softball!!

My sister grew up going to my softball games and Braden is following her by growing up at her softball games! He seems to like going, probably because of all the attention he gets from everyone! He is also outside which is his favorite place to be! The only problem is that he doesn't want to fall asleep when it's nap time with all the things going on around him! He doesn't usually get crabby though so that's good! He did finally fall asleep at one game though. It was really cute.

Carnival Ride

So this may seem alittle wierd but Scott plays what he calls the "Carnival Ride" every day with Braden when he gets home for work. I guess it sort of is like a carnival ride in that it doesn't seem all that safe, but Braden hasn't been hurt or even gotten tired of it yet. It was actually one of the first places that Braden would giggle with glee. Braden now absolutely loves playing on the bed. He can be in the absolute worst mood and you put him on the bed and he just starts crawling around giggling! Below are two videos one from October and one from just last week.

Bouncing Balloons

Braden brought home two balloons from church last week and he loved to just bounce and move and see them move all around. He didn't giggle with glee but he was definitely entertained because he didn't want to stop playing with them. Don't worry all you grandmas...we didn't let him suck on the balloons. =)

Isn't this the cutest little butt in the world?!? Braden is ready for the Big Dance! He was sad to wake up yesterday and hear the Illini had lost. His dad said there's always next year, and I told him to get used to it. =) He's still excited to see who wins the tournament and he likes playing out on the new patio while dad is watching the games!

8 Months!

Our precious little Braden is 8 months old! He is getting into everything! If you do something else for a minute then he is either into Abby's water bowl(a new favorite...somehow all the water end up on his butt I'm not quite sure how that happens), crawling through the end table, or trying to climb up on something! He loves to bounce and bounce and bounce, make funny noises with his tongue, crawl on the couch and look over into the kitchen, roll around on the bed, fly through the air, drive in his car, feed himself, wave hi at anything and everything, play with cords, bang things together to make any sort of noise, water the plants with dad, make fart noises on the couch or mom's arm, splash the water during bathtime, and clap!! Yes, clapping must have rubbed off on him! Thanks Weston! He loves going to places and just watches the people and waves at everyone! He still isn't a big fan of the car, mostly because he hates being in one place for very long! He's just so active I don't think he'll ever have any fat on him! He'll probably be just like his dad! The only problem with that is that I don't know if I have enough energy for both of them! =) Maybe they'll wear each other out! He's been eating a lot more real food lately. He loves mashed potatoes, french fries, bananas, bread, pickles(he gets that from his dad)...really just about anything we give him! It's fun to see him try different things and see his reaction to the taste. Poor little guy has his four top teeth coming in at the same time right now! He's congested and a little cranky but all in all we can't complain. He's very happy and excited to do anything the majority of the time. I can't wait to see how much he changes in the next month! He's been pulling up so well lately I bet he'll start cruising up and down the couch pretty soon!

Braden's Noises

Braden learns a new sound everyday and then he practices it all day long. Here is a video of him making weird noises. This day's noise came with lots of slobber! As he crawled on the wood floors there was a trail of wetness from where the slobber dropped and then he crawled through it. =)

Last night Braden went crazy before bedtime. He learned a yelling noise and was full of energy! It's hard to believe that he had croup but he did. It was pitiful to see him after he woke up from his nap and it wasn't very fun around midnight either. Anyway, as he crawled around he just kept yelling and yelling. This video is long but it's funny how crazy he was and the ending is funny too. Braden's says sorry Grandma Dianna! He just wanted to play with the coaster you gave us. =)

So I wasn't kidding when I said he was full of energy! He lasted for about 30 minutes when we finally just changed him into his pjs and put him to bed! Here's one more video of him pulling up and playing on his musical table. Such a cute boy!

Braden's New Friends

Over the past few weeks Braden has had a couple friends over. Kate came and stayed with us for a night when her brother, Ben, was born. She and Braden played together really well. They wore each other out pretty well and took a nap at the same time which was bliss for me!

We've also had Weston over a couple times. Mandy, my friend from school, and I are tutorig some high schoolers in the mornings a few days a week and we are trading turns watching the boys. They have been doing pretty good together! It's really cute to see them coo at each other and crawl around following each other. I'm hoping that some of Weston's skills like clapping and saying ma ma will rub off on Braden! =)

Weston doesn't normally take a pacifier but he found Braden's and thought it was funny to pull it between his teeth. It was really cute!

Braden's First Car!

Braden has started pulling up on things the last couple weeks so it was time to get him something to start walking behind! We got this because we can push him in it now and the arms come off so later he can get on it by himself. He likes going fast in it and when you stop moving him he bounces up and down until you start pushing him again. He's not spoiled or anything. =)

Bathtime Fun!!!

In this past week Braden has learned to splash the water a lot more. He's been kicking it and splashing a little, but now he grins from ear to ear while he splish splashes around! We're going to have to start taking baths in the laundry sink which is about 1 1/2 feet deep! =)

Braden's CRAWLING!!!

Watch out world Braden is crawling! He loves anything that mom and dad use a lot (cell phones, remotes, and camera) and he saw the camera on the floor and went for it! I had my mom get the flip video camera and she caught his second crawl! Once he started, he was off. It's been just a couple days and he is crawling across the room and going for everything. He has to change out of his pjs when he wakes up now because it's hard to crawl with a onezie on! The wood floors are still a little slippery so he is somewhat contained but I'm sure we'll be locking the kitchen cabinets soon! It's so fun to see him moving all around. He gets so excited when he sees something and starts going for it. His smile just gets bigger and bigger until he reaches it!

7 months old!

Braden is 7 months old and I can't believe it! It's gone so fast and he's changed so much! He loves to stick his tongue out and blow. It's one of his favorite things!

He's eating lots of food. He loves to make a mess and always takes the spoon to play with and help mom and dad feed him. =)

He hates getting cleaned up though! He doesn't like getting his face wiped or having the spoon taken away!

He loves to play with faces and mom's hair! He likes pulling hair or trying to put his hands in your mouth!

For the past 6 months he has sat in his bouncer chair while I take a shower, but that doesn't work anymore! He now knows how to take off the arch off and then proceeds to lean forward as far as he can to reach for anything that is on the floor! So now he gets put in his big bouncie chair. We'll see how long that lasts.

He had a play date a while back with Weston. They were good the entire time except Weston wasn't a fan of picture time. They are both super cute boys! It'll be fun when they start chasing each other around! =)
He likes bathtime! He's not super smiling when he takes a bath but he likes to splash around with dad and play with the ducky and he doesn't like getting out.

Of course last but not least he is an Illini fan! This is just one of the many Illini outfits he has! I can't wait to see him crawling in Grandpa Jim's outfit because it has a basketball on the bum! He's really close to crawling! He gets up on all fours a lot and this just bobs and looks at us like what now?!

6 Months Old!!

Braden is 6 months old! I can't believe how much he's changed! We are so blessed to have this little angel in our lives! We've had so much fun seeing him learn to sit up and learn about the world! We can't wait to see what the next 6 months brings!

On Christmas morning Braden woke up early with Grandma Dianna to make breakfast! When everyone else woke up we opened presents!

Braden liked to taste the paper to see if it would be a good present to open. He loved all the presents he got!

Julia was super excited to get her surprise present which was an iPod touch!

Then after opening presents the two babies were pooped and took a long nap!

After finally waking up from his nap, we went over to the Simpson's to have our 2nd Christmas!

We had an awesome time and got way too many presents! We can't wait to see the addition to the above picture next year!! Will it stay all boys or will there be a girl? The next day we figured out the reason for the long nap and the little bit of clinglyness...it was Braden's second tooth! That day we also went for our 3rd Christmas with the Lawless'. Braden had so many people too meet there!

The food was delicious and we got some great things! Nana and Papa sure do know how to spoil us! It's hard to believe that we've double the size of this picture in just 6 years! On Saturday we headed over to the Davis' for our 4th Christmas! Braden had fun playing with all of his cousins.

We were showered with lots of great gifts and then even though it was pouring outside the boys kept the tradition of playing some football!

On Sunday, Uncle Paul (UP) got a little baby training and dressed Braden for church and for our last Christmas with Aunt Linda. UP put on Braden's shirt backwards (just like Scott did about a week earlier).

Braden seemed a little worried about how it was all working out.

But in the end, he seemed pretty happy with his Uncle's performance.

The rest of the week we got to see everyone again and we got a little relaxing in...especially when the grandparents took him for walks, watched him while we went and saw a movie, and woke up with him in the middle of the night!

We had one last family get together on New Year's Eve. It was great to see people one last time.

One thing we always relize when we go home is how blessed we are to have such wonderful families. We loved each and every moment we had together. We can't say thanks enough for all the meals, presents and especially for entertaining Braden so we could relax. Braden loves all the books, toys and clothes he got and we are using them all!

Leavin' on a Jet Plane...

We flew home to IL for Christmas! We got into OHare around 6, and then we went and ate at Maccaroni Grill. Braden had fun eating the paper on the table! We had a couple accidents so 2 outfits later luckily we had his pjs to put on and Scott walked him around in the Bjorn. It took a little longer than we would have liked, but we got home at 12:01 on Christmas morning just in time to see Santa.

Christmas comes early!

Since we have to pay for checked bags, some of Braden's presents have been shipped here! It's nice that we don't have to fly them home and plus we get to play with them now! Grandma Dianna got him a bunch of clothes (basically all of his long sleeve outfits) and a bouncer. Grandpa Steve got him a shapes sorter, peg and hammer set, and a stacking set. Aunt Julia and Uncle Paul got him a tunnel with balls!

Lovin' Toes and Studying for Finals!

Last night Julia studied for finals (which she did great on) and I helped when I could. Braden and Scott hung out and did as much distracting as they could. They are very needy when it comes to wanting attention! They're so cute though it's easy for them to get attention.

Scott is husband/dad of the month because he got Spurs tickets from contractors and gave them to Jules and me! We had a great time! Julia was excited to see the game and we had fun saying "that's my neighbor" when Matt Bonner made a good play. We don't know him but he does live just 3 houses down from us! =) We were on the jumbotron too! It was really exciting to see our faces up on the big screen!

Scott played Mario Kart at home with Braden and he was asleep when we came home so he must have had a lot of fun with his dad!

Most of you know, but we got snow last week! Julia was stoked to see her car blanketed in snow until she couldn't leave for school because we didn't have a scraper. She sat inside her car as I scraped off her window with a light switch cover. =)

Braden met Santa on Monday night! He was amazed at all of his white hair! It was soo cute because he just kept staring at Santa. It was hard to get him to look away! He told Santa he wants mommy and daddy to get a full nights sleep for Christmas so we'll have to wait and see if he gets it!

Well we started giving Braden a little rice cereal. It's basically all milk with a little cereal. He's still working on figuring out his tongue and likes to spit it out but we're getting there. =)

Out for a hike

Sorry it's been awhile since our last blog. The week before Thanksgiving we all went for a hike at a nearby park to see some of the pretty fall colors. Jules and Scott carried Braden for quite a while in the bjorn and I realized how out of shape I am as I panted up the hill! =) By the end of the hike Braden fell asleep and Abby was wore out!

More Pumpkins!

When we got home from Houston we cut open a pumkin and took some pictures of Braden in them! He was super cute! About 1 minute after we put him in it he started eating the side of it! =) So his first food was pumpkin! At least it was healthy for him! =)

4 Months Old!!!

Wow the last four months has gone incredibly fast! Braden is moving soooo much! The doctor said that part of the reason he is skinny could be from the fact that he moves so much! He has started rolling over and usually makes it about 75% of the time when he tries. He is grabbing everything too! We have to be very careful about what we are holding when we are carrying him now. =) He's a very curious one! You can tell from the pics below how much he has grown!

Braden's 4 month bday was a very historic one. It was election day! He outfit was perfect because not only did it say Happy 4th but it was also patriotic. Yes it's for the 4th of July but it doesn't say July. =)
